I was watching ‘The Worlds Strictest Parents’ tonight. It amazes me how out of control some teenagers can become!  However ,in all the episodes of this show that I have seen, their behaviour generally comes from either not being listened to, valued or certain circumstances within the home environment going wrong. The programme also shows how discipline, firmness, emotional availability of the host parents can help to turn the teenagers’ lives around. Good programme!

“Laura Hall - My battle with Booze” http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00y376k the 21 year old who has been given a UK national - England and Wales- ban from drinking! With 27 convictions behind her for her drunken and disorderly behaviour, Laura says the ban is not working and what she really wants and needs is help to find the root cause of her drinking problem. How true! Binge drinking is another form of self harm, hence, our Psychology of Self Harm & Behaviour Course http://stepup-selfharmtraining.eventbrite.com  is focused at looking at what triggers the self harm in the first place and providing solutions and support for people who self harm to move on with their lives.

Enjoy and let me know what you think

Feels great to have liberated more parents!

I’m in the middle of doing Follow Up progress reviews with parents who completed my Easy Tiger Parents Programme 3 months ago. The Follow UP review is a standard part of my Easy Tiger Parents Programmes. One parent that I have undertaken the review with is NOW able to speak up at regular meetings in relation to one of her children’s special needs; able to speak up in court in relation to the custody situation; able to go out AND eat out in public in restaurants – her husband is a very happy man right now! And now able to organize her home which includes allowing the children to take responsibility for themselves and the home environment – which is a big thing for her! I’m pleased to be able to impact on parents in this way, as I work with them from a whole person perspective, i.e. they are not just parents but so much more than that!

Birmingham City Council has paid something like £40 millions to buy in a programme to make our children ‘model citizens’ by teaching them how to understand and share their feelings! They could have paid me a lot less for my Easy Tiger Parent System™ whereby I work with parents from an emotional and psychological perspective to enable them to bond and interact with their children! All about emotions and feelings…
